Truck #1 has 248,000 miles on it. Never been programmed and has an exhaust. No recent service. It seems to be in a bit better condition.
Truck #2 has 270,000 miles. Had tranny rebuild 2 years ago. Has a flatbed (really doesnt matter to me) Looks a little more rusty.

Opinions? I wanna stick with a 7.3 b/c I have a friend who redid an OBS 7.3 in his garage and he has 4 freinds that own 7.3’s and are diesel mechanics. Also the 7.3 is damn near unkillable.

Truck #2 with the stake bed looks pretty rough. Plus, if the 4x4 works on truck #1 that’s a nice bonus

Yea thats what i was thinking
I believe they are both 4x4 tho

I bet that bed liner on the bottom of truck #1 is hiding more rust. I think #2 is a strong contender given the recent tranny rebuild, new rakes and axle, not to mention it’s nearly 20% cheaper. I’d go take a look at both in person, if I were you.

Yep, same here in Illinois. I’ve got a bit starting to pop on my ‘06 Sierra.

As a 7.3 driver (dad’s company plow truck that I drive when I need a pickup during the summer for work/towing) they are AWESOME. An absolute tank that will soldier on through any snow, mud, alien war on the face of the sun, stop and shop parking lot, with ease. This one has 268k and still runs like a top, three of their shop trucks are 7.3’s aside from the plow and they all have 275k+ miles. Only thing you need to watch out for is the oil pan, which tends to rust and is an engine-out job. That might be limited to new england area trucks though, as the salt they put down just eats everything away.

Well im in Michigan so i have heard about the pan rust. I know many people with 7.3’s by me and a few of them are diesel mechanics and they love them. Thats why im leaning towards them
